No Avatar in 3D for me today. Had to take Horace to the hospital, his optical drive had an allergic reaction to Windows 7.
More proof of my innate psychosis: when faced with a choice of dumping Horace the Dell in favor of Horace II the Asus, I realized how much I had actually formed an attachment within a short amount of time. Horace had slept beside me; I'd come home to him, and he was dying to see my hometown. How could I abandon him, even if I do have the option to within 7 days from purchase?
He fought so hard for my attention, too. It was Dell vs. Asus and it took a long time for me to make a commitment. I guess I really am committed - I looked at both and thought that for all the alternate unit had to offer, I was now with Horace till his motherboard conks out. To the bitter end.
All's well that ends well; Windows 7 is still ironing out the kinks, after all.
Also, I have to say that Abby was right - it's incredibly convenient having someone who works for Dell be within shouting distance.
Avatar will have to wait until tomorrow - I'll go after work. My first time to watch a movie in 3D! I wonder what it'll be like.

Ferrous II
I. Am. So. Sold.
Could May 2010 be any further away?! Argh!
If they sold advance tickets to this shindig I'd already be clutching mine to my chest. The trailer is the coolest thing I've seen in a while, although they really shouldn't have made Tony Stark's Expo look like an MTV Video Awards side-show. That's a small gripe. I just want to scream at them to finish it dammit, I wanna seeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!
I need to breathe. And I also need to find out who Whiplash is and what he means.
PS: I love me some Don Cheadle, but he just seemed a little too serious. I think Terrence Stamp nailed the character in the last movie.

Introducing Horace
I would like to make a formal announcement - I have begotten myself with a new tech assistant and am saying goodbye to the sordid, rancid, chaotic world of internet cafes. Actually, that's the explanation for my silence. I got sick of internet cafes, decided to just let Theodore do my jid figure out how to mobile blog... there you go. But, no longer! Your favorite crazed, brainwashed consumerist has returned!!
Yes, I know, I'm late for the party as usual, but better late than never.
My birthday, Christmas, Labor Day, Easter and everything else present rolled into one - meet Horace.
The antithesis to everything I thought I would never get: a black, glossy Dell. Well, it won out over the others, and eventually won me over, considering the only reason I didn't really want to get a Dell was because I didn't like the logo. It grew on me.
Horace of course, will ensure my eventual addiction to Facebook, more ridiculous rants from this blog, and the return of the much suppressed Headline Porn!!! Yes!!
And no more watching wrinkly old women pushing down their blouses to show cleavage to random strangers in Europe. No more retards screaming down the house, playing God knows what. (is it me, or is the youth just getting stupider?)
Me is happy.
